The Silhouette shade is a unique shade system originally developed by Hunter Douglas.
Hunter Douglas Silhouette shades are very popular due to their functionality and elegance. There are three vein sizes (2”, 3” and 4”) to choose from as well as a huge pallet of colors and styles. Style offerings include everything from sheer shades which allow filtered light in while keeping some of the harmful UV rays out, to opaque room darkening shades that block most of the light. Textured fabrics are also available to add some additional elegance. Silhouettes are a very versatile window treatment that function well in almost any room due to their unique design.

Controls and Shapes
There is a wide variety of manual control options. Some of these include: UltraGlide (Hunter Douglas ratcheting system that eliminates long dangerous cords) and continuous loop cord. Silhouettes come in a standard style (bottom up) or a dual operation top down/bottom up.
Hunter Douglas Silhouette shades can be motorized by adding a motor to the system on a standard (bottom up) shade. Hunter Douglas Silhouette shades can be motorized by either a battery powered motor (limited shade sizes) or hard-wired for lager shade applications.
Motorized systems can be controlled via RF (radio frequency) or IR (infrared) remotes. There is always the option to have an in-wall keypad or have them controlled with an automation system.
Hunter Douglas Silhouette shades can be manufactured to accommodate odd shaped windows. From angled top windows to round windows and everything in between. They can even be made with cut outs (e.g. door handles) if needed.
DVD Custom Installations is proud to offer Hunter Douglas hardwired motorized systems. We have been factory certified through the Hunter Douglas Certified Motorization Specialist program. This certification is only available to dealers that have been hand selected by Hunter Douglas. The chosen dealers have a high level of knowledge of motorized window coverings and integration. Dealers must complete a lengthy and intense certification process and in doing so prove they have an above average understanding of Hunter Douglas’ hardwired motorization systems and related components.
